Try your hand at these little devils, and see how you do. If there's stuff you don't know, go back and have a look at the section, and then try the questions again. Keep doing this until you can answer all the questions without getting any wrong. Then you'll know you've learnt something.

1) Explain why you might need a modem to connect to the Internet.
2) Describe why the following two pieces of software are useful: a) a web browser b) an e-mail client.
3) What are the two main parts of the Internet called?
4) Describe one way to look for information on the Internet.
5) Why do different search engines produce different lists of hits?
6) Explain what a URL is.
