Year 7 Autumn Term: Presenting Information

Autumn 1: Welcome + The Room & Rules (B26) + kesbathict + Logging on / P drive + Support Lessons -

Create a few powerpoint slides to introduce yourself (facts about interests and hobbies, family and home life). Preparation for next lesson - picture of you on a USB Memory stick! Email / USB memory sticks to transfer data between home and school.

Autumn 2: Presenting information in real time to a large audience based on Chepstow Castle (History Trip Thu 22nd September) Students should take their own digital images and work on textual parts of the presentation. See 2003 ver of the Lessons Click for Images <@KES Only. Your First Assessment will be based on Powerpoint - You will need to create slides with text and images taken from the school network and the internet, One slide will be animated, text boxes will need borders and arrows should be added. Video from the school network should be inserted. See the First 6 lessons in Powerpt 2007 (1) above.

Autumn 3: Flash - Map drawing (Pixel v Vector). Experiment with the drawing tools shown in Lesson 1 by drawing an Alien
A map... to trace... See how by watching Lesson 2
Now watch Lesson 3 (Layers / Keyframes / Motion tween) - You can extended this by copying your Alien from lesson 1 onto another layer and animating.

Watch Lesson 4, then watch it second time and follow it very accurately. It is important to check that you try to complete it accurately checking that you are on the same layer and "frame" on the timeline, otherwise the trains may run backwards or "crash". If it goes wrong download and try again. Now create the animation below from the Lesson4 start file (Download and save on your "P" Drive). It may help you if you change the screen size to 50%.

To extend your knowledge of Keyframes and Motion Tweens download and extend the first Harry Potter Animation by making the players fly from oneside to the otherside of the screen with Harry taking the "snitch". It may help you if you change the screen size to 50%. The snitch must fly with Harry, in the file it flies the wrong way! Player1 and Player2 must also fly all the way across. Player1 will need a motion tween added.

Now Watch Lesson 5, but do not do it yet. It explains how to rotate objects on layers through time.

Now download and extend the second Harry Potter Animation, you will see that Harry "Spins" by using the method in Lesson 5! You are free to create your own scene. If you finish, re download the second start file and create another scene.

Watch Lesson 5, then try to create the animation below from the Lesson5 start file (Download and save on your "P" Drive).

Lesson 3 can be extended further watch Lesson 7 (Animated Objects) and try to walk / spin a ball!

Your Second Assessment will be based on Flash up to here. You will be expected to use various drawing tools to create and edit object shapes and colour; plus resize and rotate; add Layers, Keyframes and Motion Tweens. Test your skills in advance by creating animation on Attacking a Castle (02FlashCastle).
During the lesson you can click here for the Assessment!

After the Assessment we continue with Flash and build a Xmas Card - watch and follow the lessons below. For copyright free background Music download from FreePlay.

Watch the DemoCard lesson then build the card as shown in the 13 lessons (in Flash XmasCard above). The lessons are in an older version of the software, but you should be able to workout most of the features in the version you are using. Once the 13 lessons are produced you should extend the story to a second scene. What happens after FC leaves????
